Questions
Everything worth asking before you buy
Including whether this breaks Facebook's rules, whether your account is at risk, and what happens when Facebook rearranges the page next month. Where the honest answer is unhelpful, you get the unhelpful one.
Facebook and risk
Is this against Facebook's rules?
Facebook's terms are hostile to automated collection, and every tool in this category sits in a grey area, ours included. Here is exactly where we sit in it.
KeepAnswers reads the answers people submitted to you, in a group you administer, inside your own logged-in browser. It does not scrape profiles, it does not touch groups you do not run, it does not use the Graph API or any private endpoint, and it never sends your members to a server of ours.
We are not lawyers and Facebook enforces its terms however it likes. If losing the account would cost you more than losing the leads, do not automate anything in it, including this.
Will my account get flagged?
We cannot promise it will not, and any tool that promises that is guessing.
What we do about it: one action at a time instead of bursts, randomised gaps instead of a fixed interval, quiet hours when a real admin would be asleep, a ceiling on how much happens in a single cycle, and automatic spacing between groups so two never fire back to back.
That last one matters more than it sounds. Group Leads asks the admin to space multi-group intervals by hand to avoid Facebook activity flags. A schedule is better at keeping intervals irregular than a person with a calendar is. It lowers the risk. It does not remove it.
How it runs
Does it work when my computer is off?
No, and we will not dress that up. KeepAnswers needs Chrome running on a machine that is awake and online.
What it does not need is your attention. Chrome can be minimised, you can be in any other tab, and Facebook does not have to be open anywhere. Cycles happen in a background tab that opens, does its work and closes.
If you want cycles firing overnight, leave the machine awake, or put it on a spare laptop or a cheap always-on desktop. One machine covers every group on the licence.
How is this different from Group Leads or Group Collector?
Group Leads' own documentation states: "Your browser must be open to Facebook, and your computer must be connected to the internet." You are the runtime. If you close the tab, or the laptop sleeps, or you spend the day in a different app, nothing is captured and nobody is approved.
KeepAnswers runs on a schedule instead. You set a working window and quiet hours, and it goes on its own inside them, in a background tab, with Facebook nowhere on screen and nobody at the computer.
The second difference is money, and only against their recurring plans. Group Leads Unlimited is $247 a year on the published annual tier, or $684 a year billed monthly. This is one payment of $197. They also sell a $297 lifetime licence, and against that one the price argument mostly goes away.
How many groups can I run on one licence?
No cap. Add every group you administer.
The practical limit is the length of your working window. More groups means the cycle spreads wider so the gap between them stays natural. You do not work the spacing out yourself, and you do not stagger the runs by hand.
Can I send more than one email?
Yes. The follow-ups live in a Drip emails tab in the same Google Sheet, one row per email, under the headings Step, Send after (hours), Subject, Body, Enabled (yes/no). Put 0 in Send after (hours) for the lead magnet, 48 for a follow-up two days later, 120 for an offer on day five.
As many emails as you add rows. There is no cap on our side and no upgrade tier holding the third one back. Add a row and there is another email; set Enabled (yes/no) to no and that one stops going without losing the wording. Nothing gets redeployed and no setting changes in the extension.
Every one of them leaves from your own Gmail or Google Workspace address, on the same schedule as the rest of the product: inside your working window, never during quiet hours, one at a time with uneven gaps. {{first_name}} in the body is filled in from the answer already saved on that person's row, and each row is stamped with the time its email went so you can see what has been sent.
What happens when Facebook changes their layout?
It breaks, temporarily. Any extension that reads a page depends on that page's structure, and Facebook rearranges it without notice.
When it happens the extension stops finding answers rather than saving wrong ones, and we ship a fix. Updates are included for as long as the extension exists, which is the honest argument for a one-time licence over a subscription: you are not paying every month for maintenance that lands a few times a year.
If Facebook ever makes this genuinely impossible, we will say so on this page rather than keep selling.
Your data and setup
What exactly gets saved?
Per pending request: the timestamp, the group, the person's name and profile link, each participation question, each answer typed under it, and the email address pulled out of whichever answer contains one.
Nothing else. It does not read posts, comments, member lists or messages.
Where does the data actually live?
In a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive, written by a Google Apps Script you deploy under your own Google account. We do not host it, we cannot read it, and there is no KeepAnswers database with your members in it.
The lead magnet email is sent by your Google account too, so it arrives from your address rather than a shared sending domain.
Which browsers does it work in?
Chrome, Edge and Brave on desktop. Other Chromium browsers with extension support should be fine.
There is no Safari build, no Firefox build and no mobile version. The extension APIs this depends on are not there.
Do I need Mailchimp or ConvertKit?
Not to send the sequence. The emails go from your own Google account, so a working set of follow-ups costs you nothing beyond the licence. A working follow-up sequence out of the box, with nothing else to pay for. Not a replacement for an email platform once you are sending at volume.
The ceiling is Google's, not ours. One account can send 100 messages a day on a personal Gmail account and 1500 on Workspace, counted across everything that address sends, including the mail you type yourself. Past a few hundred sends a week you are going to hit that, and at that point a real email platform is the better tool. We would rather write that here than let you find it out at the send limit.
Every email carries an Unsubscribe link, and anyone who uses it is never emailed again. Beyond that there is no segmentation, no bounce handling and no deliverability reporting. Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, ConvertKit do all of that, and doing it well is the entire reason they exist. All four connect to an email platform you bring, and that platform is better at sequences than we are. If you already pay for one, that hand-off is an advantage of theirs rather than a gap.
Connecting one is easy whenever you decide to. The output is an ordinary Google Sheet, so a Mailchimp import, a Zapier or Make new-row trigger, or a CSV export all work, and we did not have to build an integration for any of them. The difference is that the follow-ups are already going out while you decide.
Can I use a sheet I already have?
Yes. Point the setup at an existing sheet and it appends rows, or start from the template with the columns already named. Rows already in the sheet are left alone.
Do participation questions only apply to new join requests?
No, and this is the part most admins miss. Once participation questions are on, Facebook also asks people who are already in the group to answer them the first time they want to comment or post.
So a group that stopped growing has not stopped producing answers. If your join queue is quiet but people are still posting, email addresses are still arriving, and the same thing happens to those answers that happens to everyone else's, which is that Facebook does not keep them.
How do I collect emails from Facebook group members without a tool?
Turn on participation questions, ask for an email address in one of the three, and copy every answer into a spreadsheet before you approve anyone.
That is genuinely fine at ten requests a week. It falls apart at fifty, and it falls apart completely the first time you approve someone before copying the answer, because Facebook does not keep it.
Buying it
Is there a free trial?
No. There is a refund window instead: 14 days.
A trial on a tool like this ends about ninety seconds after you have exported the data, so we do not run one. Buy it, install it, and if it does not do what this site says it does, ask for your money back inside the window and tell us what went wrong.
What are the refund terms?
14 days from purchase. Email support with what you expected and what happened, and we refund in full.
We would rather refund you than argue with you. We also read every one of these, because at this stage they are the only product feedback we have.
What happens when the launch price ends?
It goes from $197 to $297.
There is no countdown on this page because we have not fixed a date. The price rises when the early release period ends.
What you buy is a lifetime licence at the price you paid. It does not rise afterwards and it does not turn into a subscription.
Do I need to be the group admin?
Admin or moderator. It works through the pending queue you already have access to, so it cannot do anything in a group where you could not do the same thing by hand.
Still deciding?
Two pages answer most of what is left.
Something not answered here?
Ask it here. A real person reads it, and if the answer is useful to anyone else it ends up on this page.
Ready when you are
$197 once, unlimited groups, 14-day refund. Early release, and every limitation is written down rather than discovered.
